The site looks kind of plain looking, why?

Since we plan of having potentially millions of users on this site, we have decided to sacrifice "flashy" graphics for speed and reliability. You might have noticed other social sites on the net are very slow to load and will many times have lots of functionality problems. We are doing our best to avoid these problems to bring you the best site possible!

PROFILE

How do I create a profile?

On the Guildmates main page, click on the "register" button on the right hand side of the page inside the gray box. You will be promted to enter a valid email address, user name and password. You will be sent a confirmation email in which you will need to follow the link and your registration to Guildmates is done!

What information can I put in my profile?

You can imput your first and last name, age, gender, city, state, country, and a personal bio that you can fill in any information about yourself you want (as long as it abides by Guildmate.com's Terms of Service).

How many profiles can I create?

You can only create one profile per email address. We ask that you only create one profile.

Can I change my contact information?

Yes. Click the "edit profile" button in the user control panel on the right side of the page. You may change your email address on the edit profile page.

Yes. Click the "edit profile" button in the user control panel on the right side of the page. You may change your password on the edit profile page.

FRIENDS

How do I add another user to my friends list?

Click on another user's name or avatar and you will be brought to their profile. Use the "add friend" button located under the user's profile information.

How do I remove another user from my friends list?

Click on another user's name or avatar and you will be brought to their profile. Use the "remove friend" button located under the user's profile information.

Is there any way to block other users from seeing my profile?

No, all profiles are viewable and seachable in our database.

No. All friends on your list will appear in the order they were added to the site.

AVATARS

How do I upload my avatar?

Log into your profile using the user control panel. Next to your personal info, there is a link that says upload avatar. Click that and you will be taken to the upload avatar section.

I'm having problems uploading my avatar, why?

We have strict file size requirements for avatars to make sure the site runs as quickly and smoothly as possible. All avatars are limited to 40kb and 100x100 pixels. They must be either PNG, GIF, or JPG format. If your avatar fits these requirements and still does not work, contact support@guildmates.com

Yes! You may change your avatar whenever you wish as long as it fits our requirements.

Under your current avatar in your profile there is a link which says "change picture". Follow that link you change your current avatar.

CHARACTERS

How do I add a character to my profile?

Log into your account and go to the user control panel on the right hand side of the page. Click on the "my profile" link and go to your personal profile page. In the middle of your profile there is a button that says "add character". You will need to imput your character's name, game you played them on, server, and if they are active or inactive.

You can put up as many characters as you want!

Someone fraudlently put my character's name in their profile. What do I do about this?

To the left of your character's name on your profile there is an edit button. Use this to edit any information about your character.

How do I delete a character from my list?

To the right of the status of your character on your profile there is a red x button. Use this to delete a character from your character list.

Yes. All profiles are public and anyone will be able to view your list.

How do I send messages to other users?

Log into your account using the user control panel. Click the "my inbox" link and click the "send message" button. You will be able to address the mail to any user on the site. You may also click the "send message" button in any user's profile.

How do I reply to messages that have been sent to me?

In your inbox to the left of the subject collumn there is a mail icon. Click that icon to reply to the selected message.

In your inbox to the right of the date sent collumn there is a red x. Click that icon to delete the selected message.

How will I know when a message has been sent to me?

You will be alerted by an email sent to the address you used to sign up with as well as an alert in your user control panel.

No. You can send messages to any users on the site.
